AMITIE SANDOVAL
Amitie was born to two high schoolers with few resources or support systems. Overcoming a difficult childhood & some mild delinquency, she left Omak after graduation to attend Seattle Pacific University where she earned a degree in Psychology. While volunteering at a Youth Development Center, she discovered a passion for lifting up those with disadvantages due to race, socioeconomic status, or unstable families. Since 2015, she’s pursued that passion through agency leadership, human-centered HR, and talent development at Publicis Seattle where she is a fierce advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Mady’s strong vision for supporting local youth has inspired Amitie to pack up her hamster and return to Omak to help build a safe, fun youth center for the community. Amitie aims to encourage others in fostering their own resilience, building healthy futures, and becoming good citizens of the world who lead the way towards equity.

MADY SANDOVAL
Mady grew up in Okanogan County and is an Omak High School alum. She later graduated from Western Washington University with majors in Environmental Justice and Resiliency in Marginalized Communities, along with two minors, American Indian Studies and Women’s Studies. Mady loves the joy, laughter and knowledge that shows up when working with middle and high school aged youth. Her particular passion is in supporting LGBTQ+ youth and young women of color. Knowing that today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders – she hopes this Youth Center will foster an atmosphere that emboldens our youth to fight for a more just and equitable future. We are so excited for the opportunity to serve this community and look forward to making connections across the county!

MICHELLE SANDOVAL, PHD
Michelle is a psychological scientist by training and a champion of social change at heart. Michelle hails from Okanogan County and was a graduate of Omak High School. She left Omak two weeks after graduation, vowing to never return. In 2016, Michelle returned knowing that the most effective change starts at home. Michelle holds a doctorate from the University of Arizona. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge about developmental psychology, brain development, cognition, the impact of trauma, assessment, and quality assurance. In addition to benefitting from this knowledge, FYRE will benefit from her direct social work and human services work experience in Okanogan County, her 17 years of experience working with families, and her 15 years of experience working with young people as a teacher, mentor, advocate, and guide. In her free time, Michelle loves spending time with her partner and baby, reading fantasy and nonfiction, and playing time intensive board games. Michelle is passionate about systematic change to reduce social disparities in Okanogan County.
